NADRA Annual Meeting
NADRA's 5th Annual Meeting will include the election of new board members. See and hear the "Year in Review" to learn about the state of the industry and your trade association's involvement. Find out projections for continuing programs such as Deck Safety Month® and Deck For a Solider®

NADRA HQ is now accepting donations for our annual silent auction. We have received tremendous support from our members in past years, and hope the contributions continue.

NADRA hosts and manages education courses at DeckExpo. You can register for any courses below through DeckExpo's online registration system. Courses below include admission to the Exhibit Hall for all three days of the show, October 28 - 30, 2009.
NAD1 - Deck Framing Connections
Date: Tuesday, October 27, 2009
Time: 8:00am-12:15pm
Instructor: Jim Mailey
Track: NADRA

This program will provide a better understanding of what may cause a deck to fail and what a code compliant deck looks like. The International Residential Code and International Building Code have requirements for post and column supports, post-to-beam connections, bearing requirements for joists, stair treads, stringers and port-to guardrail connection requirements. This program will review the standards and methods used to satisfy those requirements. Also, we will review what causes corrosion of metal connectors and fasteners, and Simpson Strong-Tie guidelines when selecting the proper connector and fastener.
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
1. Identify common causes of deck failures.
2. Put into practice standards and methods of code-compliant connections.
3. Choose fasteners and connectors for specific applications.
NADRA Certification Course: Upon successfully passing the test offered at the end of this course, NADRA and ASHI members will receive a certificate good for a period of two years for Deck Framing Connections as taught by Simpson Strong-Tie. All attendees will receive a certificate of completion.

NAD2 - DeckTools - Design Software to Increase Sales and Efficiency
Date: Tuesday, October 27, 2009

Using DeckTools Design and Sales software, attendees will learn how immersive virtual worlds will help increase sales in both volume and value. Discover the efficiencies that software can provide to the back office by producing estimates and material take-offs while creating a deck design. This course covers initial setup, configuration, and a complete project design and estimating to give you the running start you need to put DeckTools to work for your business.
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
1. Use DeckTools software to increase sales.
2. Improve the effectiveness of written or emailed proposals.
3. Save time when creating detailed building plans.
Credits/Designations: NADRA Members Only - Upon successfully passing the test offered at the end of this course you will be certified for a period of three years for DeckTools Design and Sales Software. A Certificate will be issued. This course is produced and managed by NADRA as well as the exhibiting company.
