Maybury Helps Long-time Customer Gain Storage and Production Space

Since 2005, Maybury and TurboCare have cooperated to maximize the company's Chicopee, Massachusetts facility. TurboCare, a wholly owned subsidiary of Siemens Energy, Inc., specializes in the manufacture and service of aftermarket components for both steam and gas turbines. This location's buildings are decommissioned, retrofitted Air Force hangars with very high ceilings. Zoning restrictions prevent the company from expanding its facility's footprint, so strategic interior modifications have been made.

As business evolved, TurboCare expanded its product line to include certain components that were much larger than any they had machined in the past. This, in turn, resulted in the need for larger equipment, requiring as much production floor space as possible. TurboCare used AutoCad to lay out possible shop configurations, and they were convinced that the only solution was to "go up." At that point, Purchasing Manager Joe Boudreau searched the Internet for a local supplier who would be able to accommodate his company's need for quick response to revisions, additions and subtractions as the expansion project progressed. It turned out that Maybury was only a town away and was highly regarded in the area. Boudreau says, "As soon as I started doing business with Maybury, it became obvious why they have such a great reputation. From the very first mezzanine, their work was outstanding. They sent in two technicians who were very professional and excellent at their job."

Employee Spotlight: Dave Kagan

In this month's Employee Spotlight, Maybury is pleased to highlight a valued Account Manager, Dave Kagan. Before coming to Maybury, Dave served for four years as an account manager in the industrial sales industry. Since his arrival at Maybury six months ago, Dave has been hard at work servicing Maybury accounts throughout Worcester County, MA. Dave continually promotes Maybury's product lines and first-class service, generating business from customers new and old.

Dave resides in Medway with his wife Jennifer, their 4 year old Philip and 2 year old Sarah. The Kagan family enjoys spending weekends at the Cape, enjoying the "3 B's: beach, biking and barbecue." Dave is an active Mason and Shriner, and has fun raising money for charity and entertaining children as a Shriner clown (pictured below right). We're certainly glad to have Dave on the Maybury sales team.

Crown's New Pneumatic IC Forklift Arrives

Crown has unveiled their new internal combustion (IC) Class V pneumatic tire forklift, designed to eliminate the frequent maintenance, excessive downtime and shortened lifespan that limit operator productivity in heavy-duty outdoor forklift applications. The new model adds solid pneumatic tires to the C-5 Series' impressive list of features, including an industrial John Deere engine, dual open-core radiator that offers independent engine and transmission cooling, and a long-lasting power brake.

The forklift, which is available in capacities ranging from 4,000 pounds to 6,500 pounds, can deliver a lifespan up to two times longer than comparable IC forklifts and can lower scheduled maintenance checks by 87 percent.

All models of the Crown C-5 Series are equipped with standard features that improve the overall operator experience, including the ergonomically designed Crown FlexSeat that alleviates common operator pressure points. The Crown C-5 also redirects heat and exhaust away from operators during reverse travel, facilitates entry/exit with larger steps, utilizes a contoured seat deck, and provides an unobtrusive push-button parking brake.
