Strategic Translation Awards in Seeding Drug Discovery

Seeding Drug Discovery is a Five-year, £91 million initiative that funds academic and companies to establish two- to three year projects that identify and optimise drug-like, small molecules in areas of unmet medical need.


The deadline for preliminary applications is 23 May 2008 and decisions on shortlisted applications will be made in November 2008.

The Society for Neuroscience awards the Young Investigator Award to recognize a young neuroscientist's outstanding achievements.

The award is presented at the Society's annual meeting to a young scientist who has received an advanced professional degree within the past 10 years. The award is $15000.

AMC Fellowship 2008

Applicants should have four to six years of postdoctoral work experience, although consideration can be given to exceptional candidates with less experience after their PhD. An AMC Fellowship is awarded for 3 years, with a possible extension of another 2 years. Subject to normal probationary procedures, the AMC Fellowship will lead to a permanent position at the Academic Medical Center. The Fellowship provides an appropriate salary for the applicant as well as budget for technical assistance, equipment and general infrastructure. In total a budget of € 600.000,- for five years is available for each Fellowship. We are now accepting applications for the AMC Fellowship 2008.

Applications can be sent by e-mail to the attention of Prof. C.J.F. van Noorden to AMCFellowship@amc.nl, the deadline is monday 19 May 2008.

Within three weeks of receipt the applicant will be notified whether his/her application is taken into consideration, and if so will be informed of further details of the procedure.
