If you are interested in wildlife and nature then, like us, you have probably been watching the latest BBC1 wildlife series, Nature's Great Events. Last night's episode was titled 'The Great Migration' and followed the dramatic events which take place each year in East Africa, when the wildebeest migrate through Tanzania's Serengeti National Park and Kenya's Masai Mara National Park. The spectacle of such massive numbers of animals was mind-blowing and there was plenty of drama as the big cats, having endured several lean months, hunted for their families.
We are looking forward to the rest of the series, which includes episodes on the great flood of the Okavango Delta in Botswana and the great feast of the Pacific North West, which will showcase the wild and beautiful landscapes and seascapes of Alaska.
If you missed last night's episode on the great migration, it is repeated on Sunday at 6pm on BBC1. If you live in the UK, you can view all episodes on BBC's i-player. However, if you would like to really experience nature's great events, we have a number of trips which provide wildlife experiences of a lifetime.

Destination Focus: Tanzania & the Serengeti
Experience the great migration of the wildebeest, as seen on Nature's Great Events, in Tanzania's famous Serengeti National Park. Our Serengeti Walking Safaris offer a unique opportunity to explore the Serengeti and discover its wildlife on foot - we are the only UK
operator with a concession to offer walking safaris in a region of the Serengeti which has been off-limits for years. This pristine wilderness is one of the best places to view the great migration and experience its drama.
The 1.5 million wildebeest, 200,000 zebra and countless antelope attract plenty of interest from predators, so you may well see lion, leopard or cheetah, as well as elephant, giraffe and many smaller creatures, fascinating birdlife and
plants.
This trip to the Serengeti is a wilderness adventure in its truest sense where we explore a pristine
region, free of vehicles and lodges. Despite the wilderness location, we travel in
style with camp beds, hot showers and delectable cuisine that is enjoyed
around the camp fire, underneath a blanket of stars. For more information on adventures in Tanzania, click here. __________________________________________________________

Destination Focus: Kenya & the Maasai Mara
The
Maasai Mara Reserve in southern Kenya
is the final destination of The Great Migration and we offer two spectacular
wilderness adventures which explore the vibrant wildlife and landscape.
On a visit to Rekero Camp in the Maasai Mara, you can be guided by Jackson Looseyai, the charismatic Masai guide who featured in the recent BBC Big Cat Live series, as you explore the beautiful Talek River on wildlife
drives and walking safaris. Rekero Camp offers a classic safari experience and is perfect for a honeymoon or anniversary holiday. A stay at Rekero is easily combined with a walking safari or a few relaxing days on the Indian Ocean coast. Another fantastic option is a stay at the Koiyaki Wilderness Camp, which is the first community-owned ecolodge in the Maasai Mara. Led by local Masai guides, you will enjoy a memorable safari, with game drives and bush walks. If you visit between July and October, you can experience the wonder of the Great Migration. Kenya is one of our favourite countries and you can see our full range of group trips and private group itineraries by clicking here.
