Important Parks Legislation Introduce in U.S. Senate
The CPR Act Could Breathe Life into Parks and Rec Senator Kay Hagan (D-NC) with Senators John Kerry (D-MA) and Kristen Gillibrand (D-NY) introduced the Community Parks Revitalization (CPR) Act. The bill authorizes competitive matching grants to parks and recreation departments for the revitalization and building of recreational resources and focuses on access for veterans and military families, combating and preventing obesity and related chronic diseases, reducing crime among at-risk youth, and creating youth employment opportunities. On The Move
Joe Schiessl is the new Park & Recreation Director for the City of Richland. Joe was previously the Economic Planning and Redevelopment Manager.

WRPA and WABO (Washington Association of Building Officials) will be moving in together this month. WABO is moving into Woodview Plaza and WRPA will move down the hallway and join them in suite 205. Our new mailing address however is changing to PO Box 8416, Lacey WA 98509. All other contact information remains the same. Our move will result in significant savings on our rent as well as additional opportunities for resource sharing.
