RCO Proposal
Allowable Uses
The Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) would like your feedback on proposed policies for allowed uses on grant-assisted sites. Please review the discussion paper and the draft proposals. RCO Grants 2012 Grant Cycle
The Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) is currently taking applications for those interested in applying for recreation and/or conservation grants. More Hot Tip: Local parks, riparian protection, trails and water access all have fewer projects than they have in previous years. This means that applications submitted to these categories may have a better than average chance of being funded.

2010 ADA Standards are Now In Effect

As of March 15 of this year, the 2010 Standards for Accessible Design went into effect for all new playgrounds, golf courses, swimming pools, sports fields, and other recreation facilities. The 2010 Standards have another use too...every one of the 89,000 units of state and local government should have completed an access audit of existing sites and facilities, using the 2010 Standards to determine what complies and what does not. Teaching Safe Springboard Diving
May 20, 2012: Hazen Pool, Renton WA. Patti Southerland will be offering this course on how to teach diving that is safe, fun and informative for beginners-advanced level diving! The goal of the clinic is to help new instructors teach young swimmers to become divers or maybe young gymnasts how to become divers. More / Register

WSDOT Grant

Red Cross Partnership
WRPA and our local Red Cross have entered a partnership which provides WRPA Agency members a discount of 40%. This applies to all of our courses with the exception of our Learn-to-Swim (LTS) courses.
