Thank you to everyone who has already renewed for 2012. Membership makes up 30 percent of our annual budget and is an important revenue source for the Association. If you are planning to renew in January, need edits to your renewal or have questions about your membership please contact Jen at wrpa@wrpatoday.org or toll free 1-888-459-0009. |
| Why Waitlist?
When you register on our training waitlist you are advocating to increase capacity or add more classes. It also places you next in line to register should there become additional spaces in the training. Both our Small Equipment Repair & Maintenance AND the Risk Management School have filled to capacity and cannot accomodate walk-ins. While this is a good problem we also want to understand the demand for these courses. Please waitlist and we will do our bestto respond accordingly. |

On The Move
The city of Burien declared its parks, beaches, playgrounds and playfields to be tobacco and smoke-free, joining Auburn, Covington, Seattle, Snoqualmie and the Vashon Parks District, which have similar policies. "We're proud to be joining other cities in King County in declaring our parks smoke-free," said Burien Mayor Joan McGilton. "This benefits the entire community and is in line with the City's vision of promoting a healthy environment for people of all ages."
Brett Oliver, Cascade Recreation is sponsoring the 2012 Aquatic Facility Operator Course. We have not had sponsors for the AFO course in the past and we appreciate your support for this program. Thank you! Thank you John Mullen, Playcreation & Tim Barrett, Landscape Structures for committing to a two year sponsorship in support of the WRPA Annual Conference & Trade Show. They are our Thursday sponsor for the 2012 Conference in Bellevue and also sponsoring our cultural competency award. |
