Mid Year Conference & Trade Show

Aquatic Section Training Retreat

Action Alert! At yesterday's Governor's meeting, our lobbyist, Doug Levy, learned that the anticipated dismal revenue forcast may impact the Capital Budget. It is VERY IMPORTANT that our members understand that if they are recipients of any type of grant, loan or earmark in the 2011-2013 Capital Budget, they need to get those $$ under contract and be moving ahead with projects or risk being swept into a stop project situation for projects not ready. On The Move
The Western Governors' Association is looking for ways to promote outdoor recreation to strengthen the western economy. Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire says the association wants to find ways to encourage volunteer projects and conservation to improve the West's recreation assets. Utah Gov. Gary Herbert says the leisure and hospitality industry added 3,500 new jobs to Utah's economy in 2010, accounting for 20 percent of all new jobs created. He says the West needs to do a better job marketing the region to attract more tourists. An advisory group will offer preliminary recommendations to the association in December. More |
