NEW INFORMATION ON "LEAGUE FEES"

Please visit our League Fees web page for the complete announcement.  (Excerpt from the latest announcement) "The Department (DOR) continues to believe all parties must move forward on this issue, and still intends to issue the ETA on July 1.  The Department does, however, recognize the challenges this transition has for stakeholders. For that reason, full compliance with the ETA is expected no later than October 1, 2011." More

This course is the most comprehensive training program on playground hazard identification and risk management methods offered anywhere.  This course is a must for those responsible for play equipment areas or playgrounds.  Two  classes now open for registration:  August 10-12, 2011 AND November 11-13, 2011.  Register today

AQUATIC SECTION TRAINING RETREAT

This training is now offered bi-annually at the Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound Washington.  Members $185 / Non-members $225. Daily rates and CEU's also available.  Featured speakers include Jim Wheeler, Chris Nunes, Karen and Kevin Johnston.

ON THE MOVE

Effective immediately, John Keates is the acting Facilities Director for Mason County. His title is now Parks, Trails and Facilities director.

 

Dave Johnson is "tooting his horn" about the great things that P&R does - Historic preservation and restoration achievement by the City of Kent and City of Tukwila.  The awards were presented last Friday.  King County Press Release / Local Newspaper  Congratulations!

STATE BOARD AWARDS 67.5 MILLION FOR RECREATION, CONSERVATION AND FARMING PROJECTS IN 35 COUNTIES

Projects to upgrade ball fields, to develop places for people to launch their boats for fishing and recreation, and to conserve large swaths of pristine wildlife habitat were some of the more than 230 projects awarded grants by the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Funding Board.
The board awarded more than $67.5 million in grants to 234 recreation and conservation projects in 35 of the state's 39 counties. The grants will be used to build parks and trails and protect important farmland and wildlife habitat. While a few of the grants were awarded in March and May, the majority were awarded last week. More
