WRPA Legislative Alert! This is an important week to connect with our legislators on the WWRP. Please take the time to call your legislators' offices, or e-mail them (format is firstname.lastname@leg.wa.gov - example Hans.Dunshee@leg.wa.gov), or call the legislative Hotline at 1-800-562-6000. Your push for WWRP this week is absolutely vital - please call or e-mail today!
- We appreciate the Senate's efforts - They kept the program and did not use what the Governor proposed
- However, we continue to support the funding level ($50M) and overall approach by the House budget SHB 1497.

ON THE MOVE
Larry Otos, Mount Vernon Parks & Recreation Director announced that he will be running for mayor, joining three other candidates vying for the post. Mayor Bud Norris will not be running for reelection.
The Cheney Parks & Recreation Department has been nominated for the Sprite Spark Parks grant by a Cheney Citizen. The grant funding for $35,000, if we receive the funding it would allow us to build a basketball court in the first phase of the 50 acre Betz Park. We are looking for you to support this nomination by logging onto facebook , copy and paste this url http://apps.facebook.com/sparkparks/ and vote for our court. You can vote one time a day up until June, so please vote every day. It's easy, simple and fast. We must be in the top 7 to receive the $35,000 funding for our project. Please be sure to share this with your friends, family and anyone else you would think would vote for our project. Thank you for your support and to the Citizen who nominated us for this project.
