WRPA LEGISLATIVE Report - Week 12
We will learn the fate of the WWRP program funding/list over the noon hour TODAY. Once we do - assuming it is the $50m level and use of the list format we have been reporting - it will be important to THANK your House Member and to urge them to RETAIN the integrity of the WWRP list! Bring your entire summer staff and join us for an opportunity to network with other youth workers in the area and receive a unique memorable training experience. - Westside Skillbuilder: Saturday June 11, Tukwila
There will be five sessions with a variety of class to participate in. This year's focus for the sessions is how to make your camp a reality. Bringing the big, bold and 3D ideas to life at your camp each day. The classes will be designed to be hands on learning. You will leave the class with project examples and hands on tools to work with campers and parents for the summer.

After 29 years with Portland Parks & Recreation, and eight as the Director, Zari Santer is retiring effective July 1, 2011. "Although I'll be retiring, I intend to remain active in the community and lend my time and expertise to the many causes I deeply care about and will continue to be a strong advocate for the value that parks and recreation contributes to the city and the region."

SETTING ECOSYSTEM RECOVERY TARGETS
The Puget Sound Partnership is hosting workshops on April 14, 18, and 19 on the development of setting 21 ecosystem targets for Puget Sound recovery and you are invited. This is an opportunity for you to learn about and provide input into the target-setting process. More
Targets being set include: land development, land use/land cover, salmon, runoff from the built environment, funding for Puget Sound, swimming beaches, recreational fishing permits, water quality, and estuary/nearshore systems. Note: if you are interested in attending, the Partnership is asking for RSVPs to Kathleen Igros at kathleen.igros@psp.wa.gov. |
