HERSEYWANTED:  COMMUNITIES TO HOST LOCAL HERSHEY TRACK & FIELD MEET

HERSHEY'S Track & Field Games has engaged communities in this healthy event for more than 30 years. Children between the ages of 9 and 14 are encouraged to get involved with track & field events that include running, jumping and throwing-things that most kids naturally love to do.

As the Washington State Chairperson for Hershey's Track and Field Games, I would like to encourage WRPA members to host a local meet in their community this spring (prior to June 11) by using the resources Hershey offers, including a meet supply kit, promotional posters, online promotion, organizer support, all the ribbons, etc, it is a great way to encourage youth in your community to get fit!  The state meet will be held June 18 in Federal Way, and currently the following communities are hosting event:  Othello, Moses Lake, Wenatchee, Skagit County, Stanwood, Poulsbo, Seattle, Kent, Pierce County, Shelton, Olympia, Hoquim and Vancouver.  As you can see, there is a lot of Washington not represented!  WE NEED YOU!  A meet can be as small as a part of an after school program or day camp event or a full, open invite track meet.  Visit www.hersheystrackandfield.com or contact me, Jeannette Sieler, jsieler@ci.lacey.wa.us
