We realized we weren't quite satisfied with our first attempt and now after several months in redesign and testing phases we proudly announce the launch of our single screen online registration. STUDY LINKS WALKING, CYCLING AND OBESITY The Monterey County Hereald: A Rutgers transportation expert says the United States could solve part of its obesity problem by making it easier for people to bike or walk where they need to go. John Pucher analyzed data from 15 countries, 50 states and 47 of the nation's largest cities for a relationship between "active travel" - the kind that doesn't rely upon motorized vehicles - and health. Not surprisingly, he found that communities where people cycle and walk more in daily life have less obesity and diabetes than those where people rely on cars to get around. MORE |

STATESIDE FUNDING FOR LWCF This is important. If you have not yet done this we are asking WRPA members to immediately send a letter to Secretary Ken Salazar urging him to support a provision providing equal protection of funding for the LWCF State Assistance Program. Without Statewide language in pending legislation we will struggle to recieve the funding this program promises at the local level. More |
