Visit a Park with Your Legislator Day
Since 1985, America has celebrated July as the nation's official Park and Recreation month. Each year during July and August, federal legislators return to their home states to reconnect with citizens and reassess their priorities. As part of Park and Recreation Month 2010, NRPA (and WRPA) are encouraging our park and recreation agencies to participate in Visit a Park with Your Legislator Day during the Congress July break (5th through the 9th). Invite your U.S. Congressmen and Senators to a park or recreation facility.  Show them firsthand your parks, facilities, and programs in action and the impact they have on their constituents. More
