Greetings!
 This month I had a great opportunity to work with Tyra Banks. She asked me to choreograph and dance in the opening number of her talk show that airs September 8th. Of course I was very excited...until I heard that at the end of the dance number she wanted everyone to strip down to their bra and underwear. When I realized that I would have to just about bare all on national TV, I decided I would rather just choreograph the dance number and not dance in it myself. But her show is all about empowering women to love themselves just the way they are. I wouldn't be a very good idea for me to chicken out, since what I talk and teach about is living a life you love in a body you love! So, after meeting with Tyra and the producers in person, I decided to do it and so I did many of my students, which I am very proud of them for. Neale Walsh, in one of my favorite quotes says, "Life begins at the edge of your comfort zone." He's right, we spend way too much time trying to be comfortable. I learned a few things doing something that I thought I would never do, and it was very freeing and empowering. I suggest instead you train yourself to be comfortable with a little discomfort. More

kidSati at Camp Mariah!
KidSati is spreading like wildfire! On August 3, kidSati Warriors Jan, Dyan, Kat, Zak, and Eva shared Equinox Day with the Fresh Air Fund Camp Mariah campers in upstate New York. During the day, campers rotated through five different 30 minute Equinox workouts! They not only rocked the upper body series, they took on and mastered the lower body challenge as well. It was encouraging to see them call out affirmations and try something new! Camp Mariah's "Get Involved" theme perfectly exemplified their attitudes. Keep your eyes out for kidSati developments in September!

Persistence is the Key to My Success Leader Spotlight
We are highlighting one of our newest Equinox Fitness Leaders, Lindsay Davis, who broke through her comfort zone to make her dreams come true:
 "When I started taking intenSati, I had physical injuries, a full blown eating disorder, major depression, a job I loathed, and an uninspired sense of hopelessness. As a Warrior, I learned how to fight for my life and overcome my obstacles. When Patricia suggested I become a Leader, my warrior spirit trumped my fear and I said YES!
I completed Leader Training in April, 2008 and about a year later, I auditioned for Equinox but didn't get the job. Instead of being defeated, I upped my training, healed my injury, taught a weekly intenSati class, and began cleaning up areas of my life that lacked integrity. With each committed day, my best kept getting better. I re-auditioned for Equinox and got hired, and soon after I was asked to be one of Natalia's pregnancy covers!
It is my deepest desire to pass along what I've learned to my students and inspire them to dig deeper and go farther than they ever imagined. I want them to know that no matter what, any adversity can be overcome and a joyful, happy, inspired life is worth the effort. "Persistence is the key to my success!" Challenge to Change Warrior Inspiration
This month's Warrior is our first ever Warrior Challenge winner, Triccia Ramos. Let her story inspire you and your friends to join us in September's Challenge:
"I had been trying to get back to working out on a more regular basis, but was having difficulty keeping my word to myself. I held a gym membership at another club, but there was nothing like Patricia's intenSati. So when Patricia announced the Challenge, I decided that I had to do it. And I did! I had fun and my body loved it!
Simultaneously, I started adding more fruits and vegetables to my diet. My awareness about my entire being increased exponentially! Immediately after the challenge was over, I joined Equinox. I decided feeling less than great is not OK. In fact I don't want to be "OK" or "fine" ever again. I am excited, powerful and loving. There is harmony between my body, mind, and soul.
Many of my friends and co-workers noticed the difference in me. One of them was so inspired that she participated in the second Challenge. The Sati community is wonderfully supportive and encouraging. Today I am 10 lbs lighter, I have more energy I am inspired and ready. Thanks to Patricia, I am living a life I love in a body I love! Believe and Achieve
Editor's Note
When we get scared, stuck, and are ready to throw in the towel, it's a sure sign that we are just about to make a breakthrough! Life really does happen at the edge of your comfort zone, and the stories shared this month are great examples of the power, confidence and joy that awaits you when you trump fear and take action.
We often let fear get the best of us when we lack belief in ourselves. Getting excited about what you want to do is a great way get out of your comfort zone and a great way to to this is with my favorite move and affirmation of the month, HAPPY.
 Stand with your feet together and make giant circles away from your body with both arms. Lift up your heels every time your arms swing up in the air - jump up and down or alternate your feet if you like. Say out loud: "To achieve it, I must believe it," circling the arm four times.
Try this for one minute every time you catch yourself doubting something you really want to do! Try it with friends and colleagues. Believe in yourself and your dreams will come true!
