Greetings!
The purpose of Zen is to lead an awakened life. We
are
intrinsically awake already. Waking up is not an
effect. If
it were, it would be the result of a cause and this
would
situate awakening in time and space. Awakening is a
point with no dimension. It is timeless, unborn. It does
not come into being, nor does it cease to exist.
We clarify our life in different ways.
We might say awakening is a kind of grace; that we fall
or stumble into
intimacy.
Baker Roshi said that awakening is an accident, and
that doing zazen makes us accident prone. So let's take
up our practice and trip our way into the dharmakaya.
Miles
Davis once said there are no misakes in jazz. But if you
are afraid of making mistakes you will never learn how
to play jazz.
Practice is enlightenment. There is no end to this way.
Point your compass to true north. Proclaim the dharma
as your life and be fearless. Serve the Three Treasures
of the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha, and the ten
directions are yours.
with much care and respect, Joshin Sensei

| Inner Disarmament Practice Group, Apr 21 at 2 pm |
 |
|
On Saturday, April 21 at 2 pm there will be an Inner
Disarmament practice group at the Zen Community of

integral communication skills. These involve
expressing our truth respectfully and inquiring into
the other's perspective with empathy and openness.
As anyone knows who has taken this workshop, it's
not enough to appreciate these communication skills
and principles intellectually. They have to be
practiced. This is your chance. Everyone is welcome!
