A fantastic benchmark for the revitalization of Over-the-Rhine will be achieved on July 6. That’s when the renovated Washington Park is officially opened to the public. As one of the city’s oldest parks, any renovation would be welcome. However, the developer; 3CDC has created a gem that enhances the quality of life of all OTR residents, visitors to Music Hall, and the prestige of the city. M Space The park now totals 8 acres, 2 acres larger than previously. There are over 175 trees, concession stands, architectural columns (with Rookwood inserts), a dog park, an open air performance stage, event plaza, play area, and dancing fountain! M Space The Dancing Fountain is one of the coolest features of the park! When music plays through the fountain system, it triggers 'dancing fountain' technology, making the fountain jets and lights move to the music being played! There's a place at the ‘Walk of Fame’ where visitors can scan a code with their cell phones, then select from a list of short music samples. They can then chose to listen (1) through their cell phone, (2) on the park speaker system, (3) through the dancing fountain. If Dancing Fountain is selected, the fountain dances to the music being played!! How fun is that? ![]() Artist's drawing showing the Gazebo and Dancing Fountain. The children's play area has a garden space, interactive stream, tuned drums, xylophone, a play castle, and much more. There's also a dog park that will be a great addition for the residents of OTR who want to socialize their dogs. M Space Make the park a biking destination! Bike racks are located in the garage, by the restrooms, and around the perimeter. Pathways that criss cross the park are well lit. M Space One of the most significant aspects of the park isn’t even seen! The underground garage, which opened in April, accommodates 450 cars- fantastic for attendees of the Symphony, Opera or Pops. M Space We are so pleased and impressed by the ongoing rejuvenation of OTR. If you didn't know, OTR is a National Historic site. There are almost 1,000 buildings of Italianate architecture from the 19th century. We love OTR and our agents have been quite active finding homes for those seeking an urban experience. M Space Also of note: The highly anticipated Hotel 21c Museum, is scheduled to open late this year. Located across from the Contemporary Art Center, this unique hotel will have 156 rooms, a restaurant/bar, and huge exhibition space.MM -RSIR |
