A casual office conversation about The Banks and Casino led to an expansive discussion delineating the numerous projects coming to fruition in the downtown area. We decided to provide an updated, albeit partial list.

The Banks is rapidly nearing completion with 300 apartments atop 70,000 square feet of retail space. Businesses include:

Crave Restaurant - Features broad menu from sushi to roasted meats.

Holy Grail - Tavern & Grille just 100 yards from home plate.

Johnny Rockets - Moving from Newport on the Levee.

La Crepe Nanou - Recommendations include avocado salad and the fries.

Mahogany Cafe & Grill - Soul food, specializing in Southern dishes.

Moerlein Lager House - 2 Stories with outdoor beer garden overlooking the river.

Tin Roof - Live music joint, located next to the Police Welcome Center.

Toby Keith's 'I Love This Bar & Grill' - Some refer to it as a 'Country Hooters'.

Wine Guy Wine Shop Wine Bar & Bistro - The name says it all!

Wine Loft - Wine, brie, full service bar, music, and comfy couches.

BOCA - Originating in Northside and currently located in Oakley, this highly acclaimed restaurant will move into the space formerly occupied by the long beloved Maisonette.

Cadillac Ranch - Will reopen under a new name.

Japps - This OTR landmark is open again and is as popular as it ever had been!

Tazza Mia will have a craft coffee bar inside Japps.

John Robert's Table - Jean Robert's recently opened petite restaurant.

Lavamatic - Jean-Robert's original foray into OTR has proven to be quite popular.

Neons - Is also re-opened and is also bringing back patrons. We like the patio.

Play - This is a new new music venue located at 35 East Seventh Street.

Of course we must mention the Horseshoe Casino. This mammoth project will drastically change the entire complexion of the Pendleton area and have a tremendous economic impact on our urban core.

We would like to acknowledge the tremendous impact 3CDC has had on the downtown community. They have led the way in successfully re-envisioning the Gateway Quarter. Their most recently completed residential development: City Homes-Phase One, sold out completely. (Our own Clint Copenhaver sold one of them!) This project consists of 5 townhomes on Pleasant Street. In addition they are spearheading these projects:

21C Museum Hotel - Located next to the Center for Contemporary Art, it's scheduled to open in time for Christmas, 2012. This is a boutique hotel with 160 rooms. It will include a contemporary art museum, restaurant, and meeting space.

Washington Park - Perhaps the brightest jewel in 3CDC's crown. The completely redesigned and enlarged park will open by July. Included will be underground parking for 450 cars. This will be a glimmering urban oasis in Over the Rhine.
