Small Business of the Year Awards' Luncheon to Recognize Arlington Businesses
On June 7, 2012 at the Sheraton Arlington Hotel, the North Texas Small Business Development Center and the Arlington Chamber will honor businesses, both small and large. The Chamber will also recognize its prestigious small businesses of the year in both the for-profit and non-profit categories. The emcee for the event will be a D/FW favorite - Scott Murray. Arlington Chamber Announces 2012 Outstanding Businesses of the Year

Alley Cats to Host Chamber After Hours Tomorrow |
The Arlington Chamber will hold a Chamber After Hours from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at Alley Cats tomorrow, Tuesday, May 22. This come-and-go event provides the opportunity for networking, building relationships and exchanging business cards with prospective clients and customers. Inaugural Public Policy Forum "Energy & Natural Resources" Receives Rave Reviews |
Just because water always runs out of the tap and the lights turn on when you flip the switch, doesn't mean it will always be that way. Future access to abundant, moderately priced energy in the United States is achievable, but by no means guaranteed, unless government agencies and the public gain a better understanding of the obstacles to increased investment in energy production.

That is one clear conclusion from speakers at the Chamber's well-received Energy and Natural Resources Forum, conducted last Thursday. Speakers from academia, engineering firms, the state legislature and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce received rave reviews from those in attendance at this first-ever event. Chamber Provides Arlington Election Information |

Early voting for the Democrat and Republican primary elections ends Friday, May 25 at 7 pm. Election day is May 29, the day after Memorial Day. Early voting and election-day polling places are posted on www.voteforarlington.com.
Also on the website is information about the two candidates remaining on the ballot in Arlington City Council District 1. The council runoff date is June 23, with early voting running June 11-19.

Arlington Chamber Foundation Awards Scholarship to Seguin Student
|
Zara Ali was honored last Thursday with the 2011-2012 Arlington Chamber of Commerce Foundation $2,500 Scholarship. The Seguin High School graduating senior plans to attend the University of Texas at Arlington, pursuing a career as a neuroscientist. Congratulations Zara, best of luck in the future!
