Small Business of the Year Awards' Luncheon to Recognize Arlington Businesses

  

 

    

On June 7, 2012 at the Sheraton Arlington Hotel, the North Texas Small Business Development Center and the Arlington Chamber will honor businesses, both small and large. The Chamber will also recognize its prestigious small businesses of the year in both the for-profit and non-profit categories. The emcee for the event will be a D/FW favorite - Scott Murray. The Chamber is hosting an Energy and Natural Resources Public Policy Forum Thursday, May 17, 8:30 am - 1:30 pm at the Arlington Convention Center. The forum will open-up discussions on energy generation, water supply and other crucial infrastructure issues from a federal, state and local perspective.

Early Voting Ends Tomorrow, May 8 at 7:00 pm

Early voting in the Arlington City Council and the Arlington School District Board of Trustees election ends Tuesday, May 8 at 7 pm. Early voting locations, dates and times are available on the Chamber's voter information website, along with a list of voting locations for Election Day, May 12. Biographical information from the candidates and answers to questions on issues important to the business community is also available at the site. Click here to access the site.

AISD Entrepreneurship Winners Experience UT Arlington

Entrepreneurship Day winners at UTAThe 24 top winners in the Arlington Chamber and Arlington ISD "What's Your Big Idea" Entrepreneurship Contest spent last Tuesday at UT Arlington. The College of Engineering provided an Innovation Tour to the 3rd - 6th grade winners and their teachers. In the science lab, the young minds were opened via some unique demonstrations and hands-on activities. The tour was part of the many awards the young entrepreneurs received.

2012 UTA Graduation posterThe UT Arlington Class of 2012 celebration promises to be spectacular. Festivities commence at 7:30 pm on May 11 at the Levitt Pavilion. Hear the keynote address from Academy Award nominee James Franco along with a Texas-sized fireworks show, music, and a street fair of dessert booths. Free; no tickets required.
