Women's Alliance to Hold Inaugural "Tiara Tuesday" Tomorrow

The Women's Alliance of the Arlington Chamber is holding a "Tiara Tuesday" tomorrow at Maverick's Grill from 5:00-7:00 pm. "Tiara Tuesday" is a wonderful opportunity for women and their friends to network and learn about women in the Arlington business community. Wear a tiara - you just might win a prize!

Discover Division - Improving Division Street

Discover DivisionArlington City officials are studying what measures could be taken to improve both the land uses and appearance of Division Street between Collins Street and Cooper Street. Labeled "Discover Division," consultants, property owners and city officials are reviewing the economic conditions and possible feasible land uses as well as design standards that could affect the streetscape as the corridor evolves.

 

A study committee has met a couple of times, and that committee includes a representative from the Chamber of Commerce. The information presented to the committee at its last meeting is posted here.

Chamber Members Invited to Join Industry Clusters

As part of its 10-year effort to build a comprehensive policy agenda, the Chamber of Commerce is forming advisory councils in six industry clusters. The primary charge to each of these councils is to (1) identify specific public policy concerns relative to each industry; (2) provide policy feedback as we develop our Ten Year Public Policy Agenda; and (3) recommend to the Board specific programs and services that will serve their industry's needs. Participation in the councils is open to all Chamber members. The meeting list and contact information can be found here

Chamber After Hours Networking Event Slated for March 27-Register Today!

On Tuesday, March 27, the Arlington Chamber will hold a Chamber After Hours from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at the Black-eyed Pea. This come-and-go event provides the opportunity for networking, building relationships and exchanging business cards with prospective clients and customers. Business Week 2012 Executive Dinner

The UT Arlington College of Business and the Arlington Chamber of Commerce invite you to attend Business Week 2012 The Executive Dinner, with special guest and keynote speaker Larry O'Donnell (President & CEO of Rockwater Energy Solutions). AISD Entrepreneurship Day is March 31

351 students from the Arlington ISD will be recognized at the "What's Your Big Idea" Entrepreneurship Day festivities at Texas Hall on the UT Arlington Campus. The 2:00 pm event will also award the Top 24 students and their teachers. Top students are awarded prizes from the Texas Rangers, Six Flags Over Texas, Alley Cats and UT Arlington. April's Learning Over Lunch- "Doing Business with the City of Arlington"

Come hear Debra Twinam with her presentation on simplifiying the procurement process for the supplier community. Designed to walk businesses through the Supplier Portal Registration Process and provide a synopsized overview of contracting with the City for services and supplies. This class is a must for firms pursuing City contracts. 

 

Class materials include a detailed "How to Do Business" booklet, Web Navigation Guide, and Supplier Portal Registration Packet. Learning Over Lunch will be held April 18 at the Chamber. Click here to register.

SBDC "How to Start a Business" seminar at Chamber on April 12.

The Tarrant Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is offering a 2 hour mini-course on "How to Start a Business." The course will be held on Thursday, April 12 from 2:00-4:00 pm at the Chamber offices.
