Hear Judge Whitley Speak on the "State of the County" Feb. 16 

  

Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley will present a first-ever "State of the County" luncheon address to Arlington Chamber of Commerce members Thursday, February 16 at Cacharel Restaruant.    

  

Whitley, a member of the county commissioners court since 1997, serves as the head administrative official for the county government, which has more than 4,000 employees and locations in all areas of Tarrant County. The county is the main agency responsible for the administration of criminal justice, the civil and family court systems, public health and is a significant player in local transportation decisions.

Introducing The Center For Innovation Seminar Series

This month, the Arlington Chamber's Center for Innovation is launching a new seminar series focused on economic development. The luncheon series will feature expert guidance in critical phases of business growth. All seminars will be held in Room 133 at The Center For Innovation, 202 E. Border Street, Arlington, Texas. Seminars are limited to 20 attendees - register early!

Seminar #1 - "Export Basics" - Cesar Reyna
 

Learn about the basics of exports from an expert in trade consulting. Having spent 15-years in export /import field, Cesar has extensive experience with U.S. trade regulations in the areas of consumer goods, telecommunications and defense.

At Chamber Session, Tarrant County Commissioner Andy H. Nguyen Addresses Three Key Areas of Focus

Precinct 2 Tarrant County Commissioner Andy Nguyen met with Arlington business leaders last week during a "Coffee with the Commissioner" session held by the Chamber's Center for Public Policy. He laid out three areas of focus - truancy, transportation and open communications of county benefits for his constituents. Commissioner Nguyen also plans to "count on the Chamber" as he stressed the importance it plays in the community. April 3 Primary Requires Redistricting Map Agreement by End of Day

CapitolThe Texas political primary schedule could get blown up today, barring some very unlikely moves by the two major political parties. The panel of federal judges in San Antonio charged with drawing interim maps indicated that the April 3 primary date can't be met if they don't receive agreed-upon maps for Congress, the Texas House and Texas Senate by the close of business today.
