He has been commissioned to paint countless politicians, authors and entertainers. Women's Alliance After Hours Event Jan. 31 - Update on Economic Development | |
The Women's Alliance of the Arlington Chamber will be holding an entertaining and informative "After Hours" event on Jan 31 (5:30 - 7:30 pm) at Theatre Arlington. Andrea Roy, Economic Development Specialist for the City of Arlington will provide an update on current and proposed development in the city. UT Arlington President Defends Research Spending | |
The role of research at the University of Texas at Arlington will only gain in importance despite ongoing criticism of dollars spent on research at Texas universities by a number of influential, conservative policy groups. UT Arlington President James D. Spaniolo told the Chamber of Commerce's Government Relations Council last week that the pressure on research spending has receded somewhat over the summer, and that research is integral to the growth of the university.

Hear Judge Whitley Speak on the "State of the County" | |
Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley will present a first-ever State of the County address to Chamber of Commerce members Thursday, February 16.
Whitley, a member of the county commissioners court since 1997, serves as the head administrative official for the county government, which has more than 4,000 employees and locations in all areas of Tarrant County. The county is the main agency responsible for the administration of criminal justice, the civil and family court systems, public health and is a significant player in local transportation decisions.

As part of the Champion Education Initiative, the Arlington Chamber Foundation has a $2,500 scholarship available to one 2011-2012 graduating AISD student who plans to attend either UTA or TCC. Click here to download the application. Deadline is February 29.
