Greetings!

  INCREASING YOUR TRAINING VOLUME

 Increase your distance carefully

Training for an event means increasing the kilometres each week. But some of the common training injuries occur when we try to go too fast, too soon or for too long.

Some common training errors are caused from Muscle imbalance/weakness, over training, poor form or bad footwear, bad nutrition and hydration practices.

Some "do's" to add into your training programme. Follow your plan & build up the distance slowly. Focus on the pace that you are wanting to achieve at your event, listen to your body and if need be take a rest day or cross train instead.

Hydrate, eat the right food for performance and get some good shoes. Make sure that you stretch after your training run/walk and remember to add a strength workout into your weekly routine.

All of these tips will keep you in the game, improve your performance and keep you pain free. Feel free to email me if you have any questions regarding your training sally@fitnessfix.co.nz

TIPS TO ACTUALLY ENJOY EXERCISING

Is staying in shape something that always gets bumped to the bottom of your list?

Here are some tips to make exercise something you actually want to do:

1. Make it a habit - Remove the thinking element. If you can make exercise a habit, then it becomes that much easier to go.

2. Get a partner - Get someone else to go the gym with you. Pick someone who is committed to their health. Not only can you socialize with someone while you're there, but you'll have a backup in case your motivation alone isn't enough to drag yourself there.

3. Tune Your Challenge Level - Your goal is to set a workout routine that is challenging, but not overwhelming. Challenge is key to enjoyment.

GUEST OF THE WEEK

Every week I meet so many amazing and inspiring women so I want to give you the opportunity to meet some of the other special women in my life and how they can help benefit your life too....

 Hi I'm Aimee Davis

I have been caring for people for the past 10 years and now I operate a family based Chiropractic practice in Browns Bay

what we do...

A form of Chiropractic called Network Spinal Analysis awakens the relationship between the body, mind, emotion, and expression of the human spirit rather than focusing just on the area in pain.

It simply makes sense - to completely heal, we must work on our total self. You do not have to stay limited to a painful and restricted life.

You CAN feel relatively invincible, alive, vital and confident enjoying the experience of a high state of well-being.

Network Spinal Analysis (NSA) is a therapy or procedure that combines the findings and results of certain chiropractic techniques, quantum mechanics, neuroanatomy, and neurophysiology in a manner which enables the health care practitioner, through the use of light touch, to release large amounts of spinal tension from a patient.

It's a life-changing, expanded interpretation of the concept of wellness. The goal is for the spinal network to reorganise itself and develop strategies for experiencing and releasing tension on its own.

"I would love to help you achieve your goals for your health and wellness. Whether it is getting rid of a pain or stiffness or optimizing your already great health...I can help you with that!"
