HEALTHY EATING WHEN DINING OUT

5 Tips For Eating healthy in a restaurant

1. Before you go to the restaurant ask to be emailed a copy of the menu. Before you go decide what you are going to eat and make it a healthy option. Stick with this option and it means you won't impulsively choose something from the menu which often happens when you are hungry.

2. Eat your vegetables first, then the protein and lastly the carbohydrates. This helps you to fill up on vegetables so that if you get full before finishing the meal you have already eaten lots of nutrients and the lowest calorie foods.

 3. If you ask, most restaurants are happy to grill your chicken, fish or beef rather than fry it.

 4. Ask for sauces on the side

 5. If everyone else is ordering dessert and you are tempted go for a hot chocolate. This has fewer calories and fat than most desserts and served hot means you can sip on it and it will last longer.

Bonus Tip: Start by choosing a healthy restaurant!

7 ENERGISING EXERCISE MOTIVATION TIPS

Don't think, just do!

Don't give yourself time to think; over-thinking about exercise saps motivation. If you have scheduled exercise for 5.30 pm and you find yourself thinking about it during the day, then make yourself think about something else. At 5.30, just do it. Paralysis through analysis is not the way to exercise motivation. It's like getting out of bed; the more you think about it, the more time you spend in bed. Just do it. There are times when it's best not to think.

FITNESS FIX STAR OF THE WEEK

Fitness Fix Star

The star this week is Angela....

Angela ran up to Plan B with me after her group session last week and it made me realise just how far she has come! Angela is about to head home to Hungary for a month and she is going armed with my 30minute at home workout so that she can keep up her routine while away.  Great stuff Angela can't wait to see the even healthier version of you return from your holiday next month after some time with your family.

SLOW COOKER SPICY CARROT AND PUMPKIN SOUP

Pumpkin soup is such a great winter comfort food. Make this on a Sunday and pack it for work lunches. At 99cents per serve it is not only a healthy option for the body but also the wallet. I suggest adding 100 gms of your favourite protein to make it a perfect meal.
