Tips for walking a half marathon
 
All anyone really needs to be a competitive walker is a good pair of shoes. A running store with knowledgeable sales people will assess your gait and recommend the right shoe. Shoes do not need to be specific for walking. A good running shoe will suit a walker just fine! Before entering a race, go out and watch a race as a spectator. Many people are convinced that they are too overweight or too old to complete a half marathon. Marathoners and half marathoners come in all ages, shapes and sizes. Meet Saturday at 7.30am Mairangi Bay Surf Club

If walking is your thing then this group is definitely for you... and if chatting's your thing, or just hanging out with friends while you're keeping fit... then this group is absolutely definitely for you!

 

We walk from Mairangi Bay to Browns Bay and return which takes around 1/2 hours.

 

Coffee: Our walks always finish with coffee and a chat - definitely a highlight!
