I received a great report last week from Harvard Medical School and I thought this might be a timely reminder of some strategies you can put in place to help reduce your stress levels.

BANKS PENINSULA TRACK



The four day walk is simply one of New Zealand's great walking holidays. It gives you the time to hike the side tracks, watch the birds and wildlife, swim, sunbathe, read, play games, beachcomb ... to explore more or to relax in beautiful surroundings.

 

Both the 2 day and 4 day walks start and finish in Akaroa and take you on the same 35 kms circular route around the remote and beautiful south eastern bays of Banks Peninsula. They both visit the same accommodations, staying overnight either at all four (the four day walk) or just at the first and third (the two day walk). They both allow you to choose the pace and style of your walk with total independence from any daily itinerary.  I personally did the 2 day option myself, and found that perfect.  But if you choose the 4 day walk it gives you plenty of time to relax and explore.  The accommodation is fantastic, and so are the hot showers and shops that they have along the way so that you can top up your food supplies! I totally recommend this walk to anyone wanting some adventure in our own back yard!

Running is an excellent sport for people as they get older, it provides significant benefits which can offset the effects of ageing. Many people take up running so that they keep fit and trim.

Join us on the 19th May for the Auckland Coast to Coast Walk
Our next longer walk is the coast to coast walk that will take us from britomart to Onehunga, via Mt Eden and One Tree Hill on the way... if you haven't done this walk I highly recommend it.... I should know as I have done this walk around a dozen times now. If you wish to car pool to the start of the walk then please email me to say that you will meet me at the Fitness Fix studio.
