Volunteer Training
EmpowerLA is looking for neighborhood partners who are interested in volunteering as poll workers for the 2012 Neighborhood Council Elections. Volunteers will support the local electoral process and contribute to the Culture of Empowerment.

We are especially looking for partners who are bilingual in languages including, but not limited to, Thai, Armenian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Tagalog, and Vietnamese.

POLL WORKER INFORMATION:

On Election Day, poll workers will work shifts that range from 4hrs to 8 hrs at varying times to assist in the administration of the Neighborhood Council Elections. As a volunteer poll worker, you will not receive any compensation for your service.

REQUIREMENTS:

To be a volunteer poll worker, you must be at least 16 years of age by Election Day able to speak, read, and write English able to provide your own transportation.

The first round of Neighborhood Council Elections take place on August 4th in the Northeast Valley. Sylmar, Pacoima, Foothill Trails District, Sunland-Tujunga, Panorama City, Mission Hills, and Sun Valley Area Neighborhood Councils.  

This is a great opportunity for Neighborhood Council Election and Outreach Chairs to partner with their Election Administrators and support other councils while preparing for future elections."
