Health & Wellness Workgroup
The Health & Wellness Workgroup met yesterday and discussed health related issues expected to come up in the 2012 legislature. There discussion is captured in notes for yuor review (click here for full notes) .
Some areas of discussion included oral health care, medicaid managed care and messaging about teh impacts of budget cuts on N H's safety net system. Please review the notes for other areas that were discussed. We are sure to revisit these areas as well as address other areas when the group meets next.
We have only begun our deliberations to determinePriorities for NH's Children and hope you will join us next Tuesday 9/20 at 9 AM.. The 2012 Priorities will be decided by those "in the room". If you don't join us, we cannot include your voice or your concerns. The NH CAN coalition is strong and becoming stronger with every additional voice we include. We would love to hear your voice next week!

Safety & Well-Being Workgroup
The Safety & Well-BeingWorkgroup met to discuss issues on the horizon for the next legislative session related to child Safety & Well-Being (click here for full notes) . We looked at bills retained in the past legislative session, as well as newly proposed bills and concerns about potential areas of legislative action.
Some areas of discussion were about proposed contracting revisions in DHHS, increasing census at the Sununu Youth Center and proposed elimination of child protection statutes.
We hope you will join us next Monday, 9/19 at 1 PM as we continue developing Priorities for NH's Children. If you don't join us, we cannot include your voice or your concerns in the 2012 Priorities.
