CALLING ALL LEADERS AND ACTIVISTS
Are you stunned? Appalled? Outraged? Do you think the latest state budget is reckless?
Do you think the foundation of a thriving economy and shared prosperity is an effective public sector? You know-- things like roads and bridges, schools and colleges, laws and courts, police and fire protection, water and sewage systems, health and human services, the preservation of our natural resources. Do you think it is a basic role and responsibility of government to maintain these?
Does it feel to you like the people at the helm are steering the ship of state straight for the rocks, full speed ahead? Do you want to stop them? Help turn this thing around? Are you ready to step up, pitch in, take charge? Then please join us for a Granite State Fair Tax Coalition Leadership Summit near you. Please spread the word to leaders and activists, and/or contact Cathy Silber, csilber@nhfairtax.org, 986-7696, if you'd like to attend or can suggest others who should.
Now reaching over 80,000 people across the state, GSFTC is a 501(c)(3) coalition of labor, faith, good government and social/economic justice organizations and individuals. We work for revenue reforms in New Hampshire that will sustain our state and communities while keeping taxes affordable for all.
We know it won't happen overnight. We know it won't happen without a groundswell of popular support: the people lead and the leaders will follow. And we know it won't happen without strong local networks of people talking about what's happening in their city or town, making the connections between state and local budgets, between taxes and what they pay for, between past investments and planning for the future.
We want to help build local networks, by bringing leaders and activists together, and offering useful information, tools and trainings. We're looking for people who are committed to this issue, who like to take action, to collaborate with others, who know how to plan, organize, inspire people, are connected to other interested groups and activists, and who can commit time, a few hours a week, or as much as you like. Or are ready to learn! If this sounds like you, please join us. If you live near one of our summit cities and would like to build a network in your town, please come. Please spread the word to leaders and activists, and/or contact Cathy Silber, csilber@nhfairtax.org, 986-7696, if you'd like to attend or can suggest others who should.
