Greetings!
As President Obama and Congressional leaders continue to work on a deal to reduce the federal deficit, children's health could become a casualty. Today hundreds of community, labor and faith leaders, doctors, nurses and home healthcare workers will gather on Capitol Hill to stand up for the millions of seniors, children, people living with disabilities and working families who depend on Medicaid. Everyone across the country can participate by calling their senators.
Action Needed: Be part of this event TODAY and tell New Hampshire's senators that Medicaid Matters! Demand a balanced approach to reducing the deficit that does not pay our country's bills by shifting crushing costs to seniors, families, children and people living with disabilities while not considering additional revenues.
Background: As noted in a report released last week Medicaid makes a crucial difference in the lives of its children. They were more likely to have a usual doctor, obtain preventative services, and overall, were healthier and felt better. In addition, the study found that people with Medicaid were less likely, on average, to have medical debt. Medicaid offers Americans both financial and health security.
Join the faith, community and labor leaders from PICO, Caring Across Generations, Campaign for Community Change, Community Catalyst, SEIU, AFSCME, and Alliance for a Just World to raise voices across the country to say "Medicaid Matters Across Generations!" Join us TODAY to make sure New Hampshire's senators get the message: Medicaid Matters!
Sincerely,

Ellen Fineberg P.S. Please use the link at the top left to share this alert widely among your network and contacts in order to demonstrate support for Medicaid and for responsible long-term deficit reduction through a combination of revenue increases and spending cuts that do not harm children. |
