Narrated by their Career Coach Franceska Tucker, each student prepared a brief description of his or her clothes and why they chose them. Lisa Bottoms, Cleveland Foundation, Sharon Reaves, Y.O.U. Board member and Director of Human Resources, Cleveland Museum of Art, and Dannette Render, President and CEO of her own public relations firm, DAR Public Relations, served as judges.

Miriam Lowe and Antonio Jenkins each won a $25 gift card from TJ Maxx, and the other participants received a $10 gift card. Everyone was a winner. Special thanks go to Lula Cabill, TJ Maxx, for her assistance in coordinating the program with TJ Maxx.

PLEASE WELCOME ALLAN ROOSZ

Allan Roosz2

Allan Roosz has been a banker for 9 years, but for the next 3 months he will be part of the Y.O.U. staff. He is on loan to Youth Opportunities Unlimited from Charter One as part of the bank's Community Service Sabbatical program.  Each year Charter One selects one employee per state through a competitive interview process to work for a non-profit organization for three months. Charter One holds their position and continues to pay their salary, and helps them find a non-profit to work for that fits their personal interests and addresses the needs of the community. Charter One's parent company, Citizens Financial Group, is celebrating its 100th Sabbatical placement since the program began in 1994.

"I chose Youth Opportunities Unlimited for my sabbatical because I wanted to work with a strong organization that does the most good for these young people. I hope my experience will inspire others to lend their time and talent to organizations such as Youth Opportunities Unlimited."

Y.O.U. is pleased to have Allan embedded in our staff working on the Summer Jobs Program.
