Arby's is the second employer to receive the Y.O.U. Outstanding Employer Award, recognizing their contribution to youth workforce development.

Arby's has provided jobs for many Y.O.U. teens for many years. Their employees have also volunteered for the Youth Career Olympics as well as mock interviews, and last year, the company supported Y.O.U. by holding a Y.O.U. Benefit Day at 2 Arby's locations. The money raised from that event helped to send youth to the PRIDE Conference in Toledo.

On Monday, October 10 in front of a sold-out crowd at the Cleveland Botanical Garden, Y.O.U. President Carol Rivchun received the 2011 Leadership in Nonprofit Management Award from the Case Western Reserve University Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations.

The award dates back to 1996 and has been presented to such Cleveland notables as Stephen Minter, Art Falco, David Simpson, Stephen Hoffman, and Mary Lou Strickland. It is indeed an honor which is highly regarded in the community.

In her acceptance speech, Carol quoted American theologian Reinhold Niebuhr in saying," Nothing we do, however virtuous, can be accomplished alone." To that end, she thanked the Y.O.U. Board and staff for their part in her winning the award. Carol also commented that the only other award she would like to win in her lifetime is the Nobel Peace Prize. Maybe next year!
