wyak

Write Young Alaska is collaboratating with Kids These Days! to present a new writing contest!

Each week Kids These kidsthesedaysDays! radio discusses a new topic related to youth and families around the state of Alaska.

WE WANT TO HEAR MORE FROM ALASKAN KIDS THESE DAYS!

Tell us what it means to be a kid these days:
  • Living in 21st century, what is different from the past?
  • How is your life better/worse/interesting?
  • What are you getting that other generations have not?
  • What are pros/cons?
  • You live in the last great frontier, what is it like as a young person today?

Aspiring essayists from anywhere in Alaska may enter, and two winners (one from each age group) will get to read their work aloud on the air! Writers ages 10-14 should send us 300-400 words and writers ages 15-20 send us 400-500 words on what it means to be a Kid These Days.

All entries must be or submitted at wyakcontests.com

Deadline: Friday, October 21.

All the details are at KidsTheseDays.org/essaycontest
