The Alaska Summer Research Academy has three spots open for their July programs in Paleontology, Sustainable Energy and Radical Math. Students entering 8th through 12th grades in the fall of 2011 are eligible. All students will stay on the UAF campus for the two week program. These programs range from $1,200 to $1,600 and scholarships are available. Module's take place July 18 through 29, 2011. GET YOUR APPPLICATION IN ASAP.

Ever Dream of Working in the White House? |

The White House Internship Program provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable professional experience and build leadership skills. This hands-on program is designed to mentor and cultivate today's young leaders.
The application period for the Spring 2012 White House Internship Program is now open. Applicants have until September 11, 2011 to apply for a Spring 2012 White House Internship.
All White House Internship Program participants must be:
- United States citizens
- At least 18 years of age on or before the first day of the internship
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a college, community college or university OR graduated in the past two years from undergraduate or graduate program at a college, community college or university
OR
- A veteran of the United States Armed Forces who possesses a high school diploma or its equivalent and has served on active duty at any time over the past two years
Selection as a White House Intern is based on the following criteria:
- A commitment to public service
- Demonstrated leadership in the community
- A commitment to the mission of the Obama Administration

Staples for Students School Supply Drive |
|
This summer, Staples and DoSomething.org will host their fourth annual Staples for Students School Supply Drive - a campaign mobilizing young people to collect school supplies for the 13 million kids who return to school without basic supplies.
From July 3 through Sept. 17, you can collect school supplies and drop them off at your local Staples store.
In addition to the benefit of doing something great for youth in your community there are prizes and scholarships available for organizers.
