Metropolitan Energy Center
Greetings!

CORRECTION:  There was a mistake in the announcement below - Rate Code 1RS2A should have been 1RS6A. The two most common legacy MO rates impacted are 1RS1A and 1RS6A. However, any residential customer served under a "1RS" rate would be impacted. Residential tariffs that will remain unaffected by this filling serve the former Aquila territory and are identified by a rate classification in the MO800's or MO900's.

KCP&L recently announced that it will formally request permission from the Public Service Commission (PSC) to freeze all residential and commercial energy efficiency programs within the Kansas City, MO portion of its service territory.  Specifically, legacy residential customers with rate codes 1RS1A and 1RS2A are affected.  The HPwES and Cool Homes programs will remain in force for all other KCP&L residential customers.

Though the specific timeframe is unknown, the current programs will likely ramp down for those areas impacted within 8 to 10 weeks of the formal PSC filling.  Until then, it is essentially "business-as-usual" while KCP&L and PSC negotiate a final determination.

We will make every effort to keep you informed as firm details emerge so you can adjust your business plans accordingly.

Thank you,
