Shoplifter Unwittingly Offers Theft Tips to Loss Prevention Officer
A Loss Prevention Officer (LPO) inside Sears observed a man acting suspiciously. The LPO subsequently moved closer in an effort to get a better vantage point of the man's activities. The LPO began to browse a display of memory cards, pretending to be another customer. Unexpectedly, the suspect approached the LPO, pulled out a knife, and cut the security device off of the memory card the LPO had been holding. He explained to the LPO that he could now remove the item from the store without detection. The man then proceeded to push a cart full of power tools out of the store without paying for them.
