Women Face Charges in $1500 Theft at Target Store
Police arrested two women Saturday afternoon in connection with allegations that they tried to steal more than $1,500 worth of items from an Eastridge Mall retail store. These women are accused of loading a shopping cart with 123 items and then trying to leave Target without paying for them. The items, when rung up after the fact, totaled $1,548. The employee told authorities he had watched the two women walk through the store and put the items into Target bags inside a shopping cart. The employee claimed that while one of the women picked up the majority of the items and bagged them, the other woman acted as a lookout. The women were stopped by authorities while trying to leave the store without paying. Police also say they found 98 items worth about $1,900 inside the vehicle the women were allegedly riding in. Those items, which were still carrying price tags and "ink security pins," were believed to have come from JC Penney.
