Until last year Waitrose was barred from delivering within the M25 as part of a supply agreement with Ocado. But a new 10-year supply agreement - signed last May - opened the London market up to Waitrose from this summer. The news of Waitrose's online investment could reignite City fears about the effect on Ocado of increased competition from Waitrose in its London heartland.
