Dear Goat and Cheese Enthusiasts,
We're now in our fifth summer of making and selling licensed and inspected goat cheese. Our efforts have been well worth the work and investment to bring the highest quality chèvre, feta or aged to perfection hard cheeses to cheese loving customers. With the miracle of the internet we can educate many people about goats, cheese, marketing and agritourism. This e-newsletter is an example of our desire to communicate with the many, many terrific people we've met. Goats are our passion and making delicious cheese from their bountiful milk is an added plus. We hope you share the pleasure of good cheese from happy goats.
We hope you enjoy our e-newsletter and please visit our website for more information about Bonnie Blue Farm.

Cave Entrance
Many of you have heard or read about our cheese aging cave. A bridge leading to the hillside was the first stage of construction. Then we needed a big hole in the ground. Since our hills are solid rock we had to have the area blasted to break up the rock for removal. 40 - 3"+ holes were drilled and filled with explosives and detonated in succession.  If you want to see a short video of the "explosion", please go to our website www.bonniebluefarm.com.
It's  been  a big  undertaking  but the completed structure  will hold all the cheese we  could possibly ever make and it will age in the old traditional way. At the back of the cave are two rooms -  one is  for hard  cheeses, Parker and Tanasi Tomme,  and  cheddar.   The smaller   room  on   the right will hold bloomy rind cheese, Cave Spring.  There is also a brine room for feta.

We have several varieties of fresh, herb-flavored chèvre, feta, Tomme, cheddar and a gouda named Parker named after Robert Dru Parker, who was born in a log cabin that once stood on our property.  The stone chimney from the cabin still stands.  Our cheeses have received several awards, including two Best in Show ribbons from the American Dairy Goat Association Cheese Competition, Gold Awards from the Tennessee Department of Agriculture's Pick Tennessee Products program and two Small Farmer of the Year honors from the Tennessee State University Cooperative Extension Program.

We are always at the Farmers' Markets with our cheeses.  We also have an on-farm cheese store; however, please call first to check availability!

About Bonnie Blue Farm

about us pic
Gayle & Jim Tanner own and operate Bonnie Blue Farm located in Waynesboro, TN. The dairy was licensed in April 2006 through the Tennessee Department of Agriculture. We are a true farmstead dairy producer using only the milk from our Nubian and Saanen dairy goats to make hand crafted goat cheese. Our award winning cheese is sold in Tennessee at farmers' markets, through natural food stores and on the menu of many fine restaurants. Supply is limited but we're making as much as the goats will give.
We also have a log cabin (photos on website) that we built on our property available for farm stays.
Call 931-722-GOAT (4628) for availability and reservations.
