President's Note
Dear NYSMEANS,
We have been a busy group over the past month or so! In February, we enjoyed a great seal cruise with the Riverhead Foundation, then fourteen of us headed to Louisiana for our 2nd Gulf restoration trip. In early March, we held our first Share-A-Thon, with over 30 people attending, learning about the Hudson River, GIS apps, hydroponic gardening, and much more.
 | | NYSMEAns in South Louisiana |
Both events were a huge success. Perhaps you read about our trip in Newsday, or on our blog? Blog posts keep coming, so continue to check the blog to learn more about participants' perspectives as well as follow up activities. Speaking of follow up, keep an eye out for stewardship activities here in NY, to take place this spring and summer.
Also be sure to save the date for this year's Annual Conference - June 9, 2012 at SUNY Maritime College. Jesse Ausubel of the Census of Marine Life will be our keynote speaker, and there will also be field trips, workshops, and lots of fun!
I hope to see you at an upcoming event.
Meg
