President's Address
Dear NYSMEANS,
Our 2011 Conference was a huge success, due to the teamwork of many NYSMEA members and supporters. From
| Undergraduate and high school students shared their research. |
the months of planning by the conference committee, to impressive research presented by students, to the implementation of great workshops and field trips, to bidding high at the auction, everyone played a role. Your support is much appreciated!
This year's conference theme focused on stewardship and citizen action. We learned about restored salt marshes, boats that run on recycled french fry oil, and wa ys to get students and adults involved in monitoring programs. Have you thought about getting outside this summer to enjoy and support our local

environments?
There are plenty of ways to get involved with citizen science and stewardship activities, many of which are listed on our website.
Together, through collective actions, we can make a difference! Have a great summer, and look for upcoming NYSMEA events during the best season to enjoy our NY waterways. Meg Meghan Marrero, Ed.D. NYSMEA President [email protected] | |
