Welcome New Team Member!

Joe Rocha, DRDCon Estimator/Project Manager

We would like to introduce you to      Joe Rocha, our new Estimator and Project Manager who joined D.R. Domenichini Construction in November. Joe brings 15+ years of construction experience including his most recent position as owner of Joe Rocha Construction for the last six years.

"Dave has put together a strong and experienced team. I have already learned a lot from Dave and look forward to bringing my GC experience, skills and contacts to help to grow his business."

Born and raised in the Gilroy area, as a teenager Joe worked at his father's business, Rocha's Drywall. At first Joe swept the floors and years later after high school, Joe helped managed the 35-year old family business.

"Joe is a great addition to our team for many reasons. Joe is conscientious and focused on quality control. He is exceptionally talented working with rough carpentry which nicely compliments the system we have in place for finished carpentry," said David Domenichini. "With Joe on our team, Scott and I are able to focus on other functions, improving the team's efficiencies and growing the business into new markets."

Joe enjoys playing classic rock and flamenco music on his guitar and is a fellow car enthusiast. Joe can be seen driving through the Gilroy area in his classic 1967 Camaro which he built from the shell to a running car. Welcome Aboard, Joe!

Car Guy Corner:
A note from the desk of David Domenichini

Hello All,

We've been making great progress with "Walt" since our last newsletter. In fact we got him "fired up" last week. It'll probably be another week or two before we iron out the last details and take him for a ride. It's amazing how far this project has come since October! This was a true "frame-off" restoration. For you tech-oriented car guys and gals, here are some details:

  • 410 horsepower, 355 cubic inch small block Chevy
  • Muncie 4 speed (car was originally an automatic)
  • 12-bolt 3.73 posi rear-end
  • Hotchkiss 2" lowered front and rear springs with 17x9" wheels front and rear will be done in a few days

The body and paint was performed by a local shop called Moe Betta Custom Creations. They are more like artists than your typical bodyshop crew. Their attention to detail and commitment to quality was unreal! Please contact me if you are in need of a great shop.

With the cold weather and rain coming, there aren't many car shows scheduled in the next few months.

DRDCon FAQ's

In this new FAQ section, we will highlight some of the most frequently asked questions and maybe even share a few "silly" ones with you. If you have a question you'd like to ask us, please email it to michelle@drdcon.com.

Are there benefits to remodeling during the Winter Season?  There are many benefits to remodeling during the winter. It's easier to get on our calendar, our suppliers and sub-contractors are more readily available, and we are more inclined to offer "special discounted pricing". Call us today. We are ready to break ground on your project --rain or shine!

What is the average cost of a kitchen remodel? The Contractor's costs range from $6,000 for "lipstick and mascara" to $35,000 for a custom, high-end kitchen. Add to that the client's cost of $3,500 to $70,000 for materials, flooring, cabinets, appliances, etc. That's just a ballpark figure with many variables, of course.
