Free Bike Repairs at the Market Today!
The Boston Cyclists Union is back today to offer free bicycle tune-ups and engage the community in conversations about bike advocacy in Boston. The BCU's Bike to Market program visits the East Boston Farmers Market on the third Thursday of each month and offers free tune-ups and low-cost gear, including $5 helmets. Ride on down to the market, take advantage of this great -- and free -- community service and pick up some fresh fruits and vegetables while you're there! See you at the market!

RECIPE OF THE WEEK
| | Roasted Butternut Squash
September is squash season! Butternut squash is a rich winter squash with a deep orange color and sweet, buttery flesh, hence its name. This recipe is simple to prepare and, once you place it in the oven, will just roast while you prepare the rest of your meal. Pair it with a green vegetable (steamed broccoli is a great choice) and a whole grain such as brown rice, wild rice, barley, or quinoa. Enjoy!
Yields four large servings or eight smaller servings.
Ingredients
- 2 butternut squashes, cut lengthwise and seeds removed
- Brown sugar or maple syrup
- 1/2 cup low-fat yogurt
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Place the four halves of squash on a baking sheet.
- Sprinkle each half lightly with one tablespoon brown sugar, or drizzle a tablespoon of maple syrup into each squash pit.
- Roast for 30-45 minutes. The squash is cooked when lightly browned and a fork inserted in flesh enters easily.
- Each half serves one person as a main dish, or can be divided up into smaller pieces as a side dish.
- Serve with a dollop of yogurt on top!
