It is official, the 2012 season has begun!  Your fellow racers want to point out that PHRF B boats are needed for the NASS Spring Regatta on Saturday and J/109s on Sunday. Entries are due on Thursday so sign up today!

WOMEN'S LASER CLINIC
Corsica River Yacht Club

Event Chair, JR Futcher and Ashley Love are excited about bringing women together from the greater sailing community on Friday 11 May through Sunday 13 May for the Women's Laser Sailing Clinic at Corsica River Yacht Club. The Clinic is open to all adult women sailors with interest in introductory Laser sailing or race training. General and basic sailing experience is required, but this event has been created with beginner to advanced instruction and even coaching in mind.

 

The fee of $110 includes professional coaching, lunches and dinner, tent camping, 5x7 photo and awards. Clinic size is limited so go to www.cryc.org for a registration form today and email jrfdelaware@gmail.com to confirm registration.

US SAILING SINGLEHANDED CHAMPIONSHIP
Area C Elimination Event

This spring the 2012 US Sailing Singlehanded Championship Area C Elimination will be a one-day event in Lasers held at Surf City Yacht Club in Surf City, New Jersey on Saturday 2 June.  It will be held in conjunction with the 41st Orange Coffee Pot Regatta.  The top man and woman will qualify to sail in the US Singlehanded Championship on 26-29 July at Sail Sheboygan in Sheboygan WI.

 

The US Singlehanded Championship is a regatta run each year by US Sailing consisting of the best singlehanded sailors from around the country.  24 Men will compete in the standard rig while 24 women compete in the Radial rig.  Sailors can win a berth by being the winner of one of several major Laser Regattas, by being the National Champion in the Sunfish, Finn and MC Scow Classes, or by winning an area qualifier. 

 

To be selected for the Singlehanded Championship Sailors must be 16 years of age, a US Sailing Member and to qualify from Area C, must regularly compete in the CBYRA area. For more information go online to the District 11 Laser site.
