COAST GUARD FOUNDATION CUP

Hosted by Annapolis Yacht Club

The first annual Coast Guard Foundation Cup will be held this Saturday, 14 May 2011.  The event is an overnight distance race, highlighted by a fun-filled weekend of events.  A Coast Guard Foundation Cup skipper's social will be held at AYC on Friday, 13 May. Awards will be presented to skippers and crew at AYC on Sunday 15 May. 

Entries due by 1900, TODAY! An online entry form and race details are available at www.race.annapolisyc.org.

THREE RACES & A PARTY
SCC/GIYS Spring Race

On Saturday 21 May the Sailing Club of the Chesapeake/Gibson Island Yacht Squadron Spring Race starts near Hacketts Point and finishes near the mouth of the Magothy River.  Enter the Spring Race at http://gibsonisland.com/yachtsquadron/.
 

Enjoy a great party at Gibson Island and spend the night.

On Sunday 22 May race in the Magothy River Sailing Association Spring Classic.

LEUKEMIA CUP REGATTA
Annapolis Events

The sailing weekend begins on Friday 10 June, 6-10pm, with the SunTrust Sailor's Launch Party hosted at the Annapolis Maritime Museum.  The public is invited to attend - the admission is $35 per person.  Complimentary beer and wine, hors d'oeuvres and exciting live and silent auctions will highlight the evening. 

 

The following day, Saturday 11 June, the regatta itself will be held on the waters of the Chesapeake Bay, off the shores of historic Annapolis.  This year will feature the second annual J/80 Fun Race and Launch Lunch.

 

After the regatta, all are invited to the All Hands Crew Party, held at the Eastport Yacht Club and featuring delectable food, libations (including Wes' Rum Punch), live dance music by the Mid Life Crisis.  Tickets for the party are $35 per person.

LASER/LASER RADIAL SAILING PROGRAM
West River Sailing Club

WRSA welcomes a new Laser/Laser Radial coach with extensive racing experience dedicated to the junior sailing program.  Learn the fundamentals of sailing and rigging a Laser/Laser Radial, boat handling, competitive racing skills, sportsmanship, and water safety. All sessions will include a Laser sailing program.

 

Session I:   June 20 - July 1

Session II:  July 6 - July 15

Session III: July 18 - July 29

Session IV: August 1 - August 5

  

Time:  8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. 

Ages:  13 years and up with minimum weight of 110 lbs. 

All Laser sailors must provide their own boat.
