AB Expands Management Team
Company Invests to Build Next Phase of Growth
Academic Benchmarks is excited to announce that Ramsey Chambers has joined the senior management team as the Vice President of Product Strategy. After almost a decade of providing the foundation of standards data for the K-12 industry, Academic Benchmarks seeks to build on its success and develop a new set of products and solutions to address the increasing demands for sophisticated tagging of resources and contextual integration with our clients' products and operational workflows.
The creation of the Product Strategy function reflects the company's investment in its new phase of growth. In his role, Ramsey will direct all product vision and development, engaging the growing AB client base and other education stakeholders to effectively identify the most pressing needs where the rich dataset of Academic Benchamrks can serve the market. Over the last 10 years at Blackboard, Ramsey has served in Product Strategy, Product Marketing, and Strategic Partnership roles.
"Ramsey brings a unique combination of skills and experience, including product development, business acumen, and the ability to relate to technical staff, executives, and our clients. Common Core Update
Unique Identifiers and XML Snippets
Earlier this Summer, the NGA/CCSSO released new Common Core State Standards Identifiers; including Dot Notation, URIs, and GUIDs. Academic Benchmarks has provided information on these new identifiers and how they may impact your standards delivery in the News and Alerts section of the AB KnowledgeBase.
Last week, the NGA/CCSSO sent out an update regarding the release of their long-awaited XML format. According to the CCSSO:
"The XML representation of the standards and the embedded metadata within the HTML pages is available at www.corestandards.org. To access the XML and metadata, append "XML" to any of the identifier URLs. The XML and metadata represent the intent and language of the standards and go no further."
It should be noted that the XML representation provided by the CCSSO is only a snippet/snapshot of one standard, and not a complete XML of either subject. Since the release of the Common Core State Standards, Academic Benchmarks was the first to offer GUIDs for the CCSS, as well as many digital delivery formats (XLS, CSV, XML, JSON) via file delivery or API.

Can I mass load metadata for my assets in the alignment tool? Here's how to find out!
AB Support can assist with importing your collection of asset metadata quickly and easily. Simply provide the information you want to add to your assets in a CSV or MS Excel file. Any information which describes your assets can be loaded, including Grades, Subjects, or Custom Asset Properties you have already created in the Alignment Tool. In order to keep all of the data in line with your assets, we require the file includes a Unique ID for each asset.
This data will be reviewed and updated for all of your assets within 1 business day of receipt.
