The Common Corner

Academic Benchmarks monitors each state's activity relating to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). We contact each state Department of Education, review state websites, and follow news articles so you don't have to. We gather pertinent information, including:

Important Dates - when states plan to adopt or implement the Common Core.
Replacement Type - states plans to implement the CCSS verbatim or to use add a supplement.
Replacement Information - how states are publishing tools such as CCSS crosswalks.
Latest DOE updates - additional information from the state agencies.

A comprehensive compilation of this information, updated monthly, is now available to our clients on the AB KnowledgeBase.

Aside from tracking the state's view of the CCSS, we are also monitoring other Common Core related items, such as the inTASC Model Core Teaching Standards and the Conceptual Framework for New Science Education Standards. For more information, please send us an email.

Solutions Beyond Alignments

Academic Benchmarks continues to expand its offering to address the increasing sophistication of the data demands of our clients. Working closely with new and existing clients over the first months of 2011, a few examples of our efforts include:

Creation of custom standards-connected taxonomies enabling clients to connect their resources to standards more efficiently while meeting their alignment expectations.
Development of custom tool interfaces to the AB Data enabling clients to interact with standards, taxonomy and content data simply and intuitively.
Access to deeper standards-related data via AB Web Services API enabling clients greater flexibility in their integration of Academic Benchmarks data with client systems and workflow.
