This is our new monthly email newsletter. Our goal
is to provide information and resources that help you and your child better navigate the social world. In this first issue, we'll give you an overview of what you can expect to find here.
Arriving
in your inbox the last Tuesday of the month, each newsletter will feature
several sections that you can navigate via a convenient table of contents.
The Social Thoughts
section covers
important concepts and topics relevant to social learning and social cognitive
deficits. We also review interesting articles and books from the field. On tap
for next month: An Introduction to Social
Thinking.
You'll
find suggestions for activities and games that can help develop and improve your
child's social skills in the Tips and Tools section. These
will often expand on our Social Thoughts coverage.
In the Resources
section, we provide links to helpful websites, articles, books and
materials on various aspects of social learning.
When we
come across a workshop or program relevant to the s2s community, we'll
tell you about it in our In the Neighborhood section on the left sidebar. As a
preview, we want to let you know that the Long Island Autism Fair is on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at
Farmingdale State College. For more information,
We invite
you to visit the Social Steps Sampler section for highlights from our
upcoming blog, Social Steps.
At Steps to Socialization, we understand
that the social world can be a difficult place. We're here to guide you and
your child through the social maze.
This is a
true community space. So, we encourage you to help us expand the s2s community by sharing this newsletter with friends, family and anyone who might benefit from
the information and insights presented.
Also, please feel free to join in the conversation by emailing us your ideas, tips and comments.
We're
looking forward to seeing you here and over at our blog!
Until next time,
Evelyn
and Lisa
