PrincipalPrincipal's Message

Ms. PointerHello Einstein Families,

It was a pleasure getting to see you all on Thursday at the Meet and Greet!

As you may have noticed in the Meet and Greet slide show of the teaching staff, we have hired two new teachers since the Welcome Back letter was sent home a few weeks ago.
Our new Special Education teacher is Mrs. Katie Gilreath. Katie is a recent graduate from Bowling Green University. She is extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic and comes very highly recommended from her previous supervisors and colleagues.
We have also hired an additional Safety Net teacher, Ellen Barber. Ellen has several years of experience in both the Highline and Edmonds School Districts. Ellen is a skilled teacher that has valuable expertise in the areas of Reading and Math. Ellen also comes very highly recommended.

At this time we are fully staffed with an incredible group of professionals. I am very confident in the individuals that have the good fortune of helping your children grow and learn this year. I can't wait for you to get to know them all better as the year progresses.

I hope you all enjoy this last day home with your children! This is going to be an exciting week!

Melissa Pointer

The updated school supply list for each grade is posted on the

Einstein site (in the Announcements section). Supply lists are different for each grade so check carefully.

Schedule

  • 8:40 am: Supervision on the playground begins and, for safety reasons, students should not arrive before this time.
  • Upon arrival: If your child eats breakfast at school have your child go to the commons, if not, line up at the classroom door.
  • 8:55 am: The first bell rings. Students enter the classroom and attendance is taken promptly. Students not in the classroom at this time are marked tardy.
  • 3:30 pm: School is out for the day.

Meet or reconnect with other Einstein Parents over coffee

Please join us for the Parents' Coffee in the library from 9:00-10:00 am tomorrow, Tuesday, September 6. It's a great opportunity to meet or reconnect with other Einstein Parents; catch up after the summer and make plans for the new year.

PassTheHatPass the Hat Campaign Runs September 6 - 23

Greetings Otter Parents!

The PTSA annual PASS THE HAT fundraiser starts tomorrow! This program funds wonderful activities for our children such as Art Enrichment Programs, Einstein Choir, International Night, Math Night, and the annual yearbooks. With your generous support, we can continue to fund these programs.

Help us reach our goal of $65.00 per student, although more is always welcome. Please complete the form in the First Day packet and return it to the school. And do not forget corporate matching. This is an easy way to increase, even double, your contribution. Thank you for your support!

Fundraisers7 Ways to Raise Money for Einstein Every Day

Providing quality programs and experiences to enhance our children's education requires financial support from you...
But did you know that you can earn money for Einstein PTSA just by continuing to do things you may already do?

  • Have you seen the Box Tops for Education logo on products in your house? Einstein gets 10 cents per box top collected.
  • Do you shop at Target, Safeway, or PCC? Each store will pay Einstein a percentage of the proceeds of your sale after you complete a simple registration process at no cost to you.
  • Have an upcoming party you need supplies for? Everything Party in Redmond will donate 10% of your purchase if you mention Einstein at the beginning of the transaction.
  • Do you shop at Amazon? A percentage of every purchase you make will benefit Einstein when you shop using this link.
  • Do you enjoy Jamba Juice Smoothies? Swipe cards are available at the school office with 10% of every purchase going directly to Einstein PTSA.

Our Fundraising page provides information and links on all 7 programs and services that you can use to help Einstein any day of the week.

And PCC Scrip cards are available for purchase again this year. You pay $20 per card and it's pre-laoded with $20. Then every time you reload the card at PCC, they will donate 5% of the reload amount to Einstein PTSA. Click here for the order form (fill it out and return it to school to get your card). But hurry, we only have a limited amount and they go fast!

Thank you for all your support!!
